Home Interview

I know we are well into the appointment process. My son received nominations to USMA and USNA. We received a call from USAFA local rep to schedule a home interview. We have this scheduled for this weekend. He has no nomination for USAFA. He had mentioned the prep school to my son. I have called the Senator and Congressmans office who nominated him to see about geeting a nomination for USAFA. The Senators office said it would be unlikely and the congressman is still looking into it.

Is it possible that the interview may be for the prep school???

at this point, if he doesn't have a nomination, then it probably is. if he gets the nomination, that could change. as you know, he can't get into the academy without a nomination.

True, he cannot get in without a nomination, but that nomination does not have to come from his Senator or Congressman.

The Sec of the AF can nominate, as can the VP, as can the Supe of the USAFA.

nominations have to be submitted by a certain deadline. I think that it is January 31st

Don't panic. Those congressman can work miracles.

As Luigi siad, there are other nomination sources available if someone is REALLY wanted and didn't get a congressional nom. My understanding of the system is that after the normal noms are sent in the rest are put into a sort of pool for grabs that the academy uses to get qualified people that they want in.

As to the P school, it is possible. I know of a few guys here that were accepted to USNA and/or USMA and chose to come to the P instead. If he is an intercollegate athlete it is even more possible because they use the P school to recruit a lot of players that otherwise wouldn't qualify for entrance for whatever reason.
