Home School Acceptances, Class of 2013!

EDs for CalTech and Stanford went out Friday12/12, MIT 12/15. Anyone?

My son has been home educated for his whole life and has been the "experimental model"by virtue of being the first. Stanford accepted all our homegrown materials, including him! :D

Thats wonderful!
Keep us posted regarding other acceptances.

How exciting. anotherhs list I am on has an EA from Stanford.

My son is at Caltech (ea last year, also MIT)

My first introduction to homeschooling was at Stanford over 2 decades ago when I met a student there who had been homeschooled her whole life. I remember that she would assign her high school aged brother books to read, and they would discuss the books together over the phone. I hope my kids will be as close then... on days like today they seem to just fight ... :-(

That is great news, MyOlaHome! Don't miss the "ProFro" (prospective frosh) weekend...it's really worth traveling for!

Our S was accepted to Penn State (University Park, the main campus). He will be joining our older son, who was not homeschooled.

Congrats to momwriter and to her son! How convenient
for you to have two students at the same place...and
probably nice for your two sons to have a familiar face
nearby.

Congrats everyone!!!

I'm 4 for 4 so far. =)

Been accepted at:
Florida State University
University of Minnesota
University of Colorado
Covenant College

Waiting to hear from:
University of Florida
Colorado State University

My son has been accepted at:

University of Texas (still waiting on the honors program, Plan II)
Southwestern University (TX), with merit scholarship
Trinity University (TX), with merit scholarship
Texas A&M (still waiting for honors)

We expect word from University of Miami very soon, since he applied EA.
Then, there are those that he'll hear from in April.....

Congratulations to everyone!

Fang Jr was accepted at Kalamazoo and Beloit, both EA. He had been planning to apply to some more schools, but when he got the second acceptance (to Beloit) he decided he was done. He will be attending Kalamazoo.

I thought you could only apply to one school EA. Is that incorrect?

PhotoOp, EA isn't binding whereas ED is binding. Some schools such as Stanford and Yale have Single College EA.

One more to add: University of Miami (with good merit aid, and an invitation to interview for the full ride).

I have been accepted to ASU's Barrett Honors College :)

Congratulations, lolcats4 (btw--love your name)! My friend's daughter is at Barrett and loves it. I've heard really good things about that program.

yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I've haven't heard anything but great stuff about Barrett!

My son was accepted into the Physics program at:

UNC -Chapel Hill
NC State

Those were the only places he applied, so we're really glad he has a choice to make. LOL.

Congratulations, all!

Congrats again everyone!

I got into Colorado State today. It didn't really come as a surprise, considering it was my back up Colorado school behind CU-Boulder, and I got in there. So that brings my record to 5-0. Now only less than two weeks before I hear back from my last and toughest challenge yet, the University of Florida.

I got a likely letter from Columbia today :)
