Home school Acceptances (Class of 2020)

I’m stealing the idea from the class of 2019 version of this that someone made last year

So, what schools have fellow homeschooled HS seniors gotten accepted to so far? I think that we deserve a bigger pat on the back, because the admissions process (at least in my experience) is especially excruciating when you’ve been homeschooled. So here’s our place to brag!

I applied to 7 schools and have heard back from 3 so far. I applied EA to 4 schools and RD to 3. I’m still waiting to hear from the other EA school.

Applied:
Ithaca College (EA)
Lesley University (EA)
Simmons College (EA II)
Pace University (EA)
Northeastern University (RD)
NYU (RD)
Sarah Lawrence College (RD)

Accepted to Lesley with $10k/year, Ithaca with $17k/year, and Simmons with $19k/year! I’m really happy with the way things are going so far, and definitely don’t regret going for homeschooling!

Congratulations and well done!

My DS has been accepted to University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), University of Alabama in Huntsville, Florida State University, and Florida Polytechnic University. Merit $$ all.

We have been homeschooling for 9+ years an it’s been an amazing journey. So proud of you homeschoolers!

*and (fixing my post from last night - hate typing on my Kindle)

Adding Clemson to our list!

Adding University of Maryland College Park to our list!

@SouthFloridaMom9 Congrats; you guys are on a roll!

Awww thank you @rhiannaps. The last ones we are waiting on are Virginia Tech (regular decision) and FAU - the school where my son dual enrolls. He just finished his application there and they are wanting me to notarize his transcript. That’s the first school in his search where that has been a requirement. It figures that it would be the school where we thought it would be a short, simple application process. :stuck_out_tongue: Oh well! I am so thankful that DS has some options; he has worked very hard.

Is this thread for USA only?

I’m not the OP, but I don’t think so @Oddenigma - go for it!

I applied RD so I’m waiting on my decisions

Feel free to post here when you hear back @Oddenigma

Also wanted to add that I was accepted to Pace University in NYC with $25,000/year in merit money

I’m still waiting to hear back RD from some more reachy schools (Northeastern, NYU, and Sarah Lawrence) however I’m leaning toward attending Simmons!

Woo-hoo congratulations @rhiannaps! =D>

Hi! I am graduating my youngest this Spring and retiring from homeschooling after 15 yrs. My daughter has been accepted with merit $ to Campbell University, Radford University, and Christopher Newport University. She is still waiting on Virginia Tech RD, where her brother is a junior.

Wow, congratulations @HokieMomma17 - 15 years is an amazing journey (9+ here). What do we do now?

Did your older son transition easily to VT? My niece is there too, though she went to public school.

Overall, yes. There were some tough days, but he is doing well.

Excited to add University of Florida. Stunned actually.
