I agree that it makes her look more well rounded especially since it might come across that she is just into academics. I would include another section where you put other honors and include it there, and list it last. If she does not have other honors that are non academic, I would put it into a short answer somewhere if they ask her to tell them something they dont know

bluebayou, I disagree that being popular is not a postive attribute. It can help the kid succeed in life and the colleges want their students to succeed in life. If someone is smart and accomplished otherwise, being 'cute' is just added bonus. That is reality.

Sounds like all the males want it included, and females say no. AcceptedAlready seems to have a unique insight into the admissions process, and I'd go with his advice.

Anyone else think that she should post some pics? :p

Um no Westcoast...

To the OP, I fully agree with NorthstarMom. I have my own question though, if I apply electronically, do I give my Activities List to my GC to mail with my transcript?

Hey, detecting alot of bitterness here. Go ahead and put it down. It combined with the other things you mentioned make for a balanced intelligent person. It's a nice combo. Besides they are going to hate you for being smart, might as well add the double whammy of being well liked by your peers too.

By the way, have you met my son? :)

As a mom of a homecoming king, I say put it down. It was the first time a really smart involved cross country runner with great grades made the cut at our school. He beat out the football players and the word around school was that they were happy it went to a nice, smart guy. He wasn't considered on of the "popular crowd",but he knew lots of people and made a positive impact on them. So, put it down. My son is a SEAS student at Columbia, so that kind of goes against the standard as well - an engineering student at an Ivy League who was a homecoming king.

So is it worthwhile to put down you were homecoming king at the bottom of the awards segment (below, of course, awards that recognize hardcore achievement)?

Yes...just make sure to put it at the way bottom to show you don't consider it important

OP. Attractive. LULZ.

I put Homecoming King on my application. I don’t see why you wouldn’t. It’ll be one of the only elements of your application that speaks for your social skills and likability (other than an interview).

Don’t listen to the people that say don’t put it down. PLEASE PUT IT DOWN. I was voted homecoming king of my high school and I really feel like that helped my application a lot. It shows adcoms that you are not just some nerdy person that no one cares about. It definitely gives a bigger picture of yourself and helps adcoms know exactly what kind of person you are.
