Homecoming

I'm going to my first homecoming in less than 24 hours.

What do I wear?

What do I do there?

What if I don't know how to dance really?

What do you do at a dance…? Hmm…haha, really it
ll be fine. Are you going with a date? If not, don
t worry about dancing. If you do have a date, then still, don
t worry too much. It
ll work out. Basically, some people danced, and the rest just milled around talking to friends and stuff.

Well if it’s formal, you should wear dress shirt and maybe a tie? If you’re a girl, a dress? Most people stand around and talk to friends unless you are one to dance. I’d say just have fun, no one will likely care what you’re doing (not to sound inconsiderate, but they’re probably too occupied w/ their own insecurities) (=

Haha my first homecoming is tomorrow too. Just wear a tie, and hang with your friends unless you have a date you won’t have to dance.

OK, now that it’s all over, I’d like to say:

1) I surprisingly wasn’t nervous the entire day.

2) Even on the dance floor I surprisingly wasn’t nervous. The darkness allowed me to walk around without self-consciousness.

3) Dancing was FUN.

4) I genuinely wish that I had gone all 4 years of HS.

5) For everyone on the fence about Homecoming - I reiterate: no one will make fun of you for not knowing how to dance; don’t feel self-conscious about how you look/dress; don’t feel self-conscious about not taking anyone. Go, and it’ll be worth it :). Or at least go, and be able to say that you went, at least once, when you’re out of HS. Being certain of only this one life, you should never waste an opportunity that comes once.

I’m glad that you enjoyed it, Qube. It’s your lat year and, darnit, you better enjoy it! I know I enjoyed mine! Dancing all over the floor. From the wobble to the catdaddy. Too much fun. And I was drenched! But then gain everyone was ;)

My only regret was not staying after to get pictures of me with friends. I looked real snazzy in my outfit but I forgot/didn’t know to stay after for a few minutes for pictures D:. I just talked and left :(.

My number one wish now is to attend a party university :D.

UF here I come :D!

THAT’S THE SPIRIT! UF is my top choice since I bumped UM down. Lol

Did you find any special ladies?

Oh yes. I danced with several people I had seen around school, that I had wanted to talk to, but never did talk to :D. “Danced.” I think one of them I “knew” from middle school (that’s 4 years ago) … but I never talked to her … until today.

What a way for homecoming to tie up loose strings :D!

How was your homecoming Niquii?

And what is prom like? I’d estimate that most of the people at homecoming were single. Is it better to go to prom with someone else?

Hahah well at least you had better luck in the “potential love” department.

I was always too close to my crush-who-I-shouldn’t-like. He was always in the vicinity of me.
Looking too darn cute and his cute freakin tie.

Oh yeah. It was awkward for me too … seeing a crush hug someone else really crushed me. Seriously. Oh well I just won’t take it too seriously so it doesn’t get to me.

My homecoming was great! I danced an dance and danced. I laughed and laughed and laughed. I’ve never been so happy at a social event like that before.

I’m pretty most people are single. You only really notice the couples when they’re lip locked doing a slow dance to a fast techno song.

I find its better to go solo unless you’re really comfortable with that person. You don’t want to feel obligated to be with that person the entire time. If your solo the all you have to worry about is you and how to feel and what you want to do. But comfort level is key. You need I be able to withstand them drenched with sweat smelling like a 50s Men’s bathroom after Big Rick has been in there.

It didn’t hurt me that he danced with another girl during a slow song. I think because I was so happy that it didn’t matter. :)

I wish my school had a homecoming dance :/

I’ve never gone to homecoming, but I’m going this year. First time wearing a dress in at least 9 years LOL.

HC is never usually that bad. Its actually pretty funny when the teachers go in and have to stop random kids for grinding on each other.

Ha last year the teachers were there with their husbands/wives and it was kind of funny.
