My boyfriend and I have already gone to homecoming two years in a row, so we decided to wait until prom :).

I'm homeschooled and he lives overseas, and it wouldn't even be worth it to try and explain everything to everyone even if he did live here full time and I went to a public school.

Mine is tomorrow. And no, I didn't not choose to go because I'm antisocial. Its just that whenever we have dances at my school they turn out really bad. The attendance at our dances were so low that we ended up losing money loads of money. Then the student council had to bribe people to go with free pizza and ice cream parties...And I went last year since I had to set up, since I was on Student Council, biggest wastage of time in my life.

School dances at my school suck. A lot.

Thankfully, no. Unfortunately, next year I'll be forced to go by mom, same with Prom next year (but that was the deal I made to get out of going to Homecoming the past two years + this year).

You guys are lame! I went to the Homecoming game and dance last weekend and had an amazing time. More than half my school attends the dance, which makes Homecoming worthwhile.

I guess this makes me an abnormal CC'er (semi-preppy).

Uh, I would call myself semi-preppy as well, but that does NOT mean that I would go to homecoming. Really only the losers at our school ever go to homecoming. Or underclassmen. Same thing.

I wouldn't. But I had to go because I'm nominated for Queen.

^...Well, maybe that's the difference between my semi-rural school and a suburban school? We have nothing else really going on, so why not go?

It was last weekend. My boyfriend, his friends (who are also my friends) and I went out and played laser tag.

^^Yeah maybe, I don't know. I always just thought most schools were like mine - like.. underclassmen go to homecoming and only the freshmen even enjoy it? Lol. They always try to act like it's a big deal though, but I wasn't impressed even as a freshmen. lol.

Same with my school, IV. I mean, some groups of juniors and seniors go and have fun, but the number of people who go definitely decreases as grade increases.

But there's a lot of pressure from others. As in, you must go to a dance sometime in high school.

it's the day of the SAT! (i know it's late, my school is weird). i can't afford to think about trivial things such as homecoming with the SAT coming up!!!!!!

Mine was September 27, and I had a blast :) School dances are a pretty big thing at my school, homecoming is like a mini-prom and costs about the same...

Don't feel like spending too much money. Plus there's an FBLA event on that day.

Waste of time and money.

Homecoming is so cheap compared to winter formal/prom..why wouldn't you go to the cheapest dance of the year?

senior09: seriously? homecoming doesn't require tuxedo/expensive tickets/limo and all that other stuff though. o_o

CC antisocial ftw

Am I still spending money to go a boring dance with incredibly sucky music, primarily populated by freshman and sophomores, that has no sense of being special at all? Yes. Thus, it is an abject waste of money.
