Homeland Security Program

Hello everyone.

I’m currently a community college student on Long Island and was curious about SJU’s Homeland Security program. Here are the questions:

  1. What are the pros of the program, e.g. how employable would one be after completing it?
  2. How rigorous is the program?
  3. How difficult is it to get into the program as a transfer? My GPA at the time of writing is 3.9, and I'll be receiving my A.A. in December.
  4. How are the aid offers/scholarships? With tuition of roughly 40,000 USD/year, and a need to live on-campus or at least near it, the costs quickly add up and will lead to a lot of debt. Any aid/scholarships will help.

And this is non-SJU related, but equally as important: are there any Homeland Security programs, or similar programs which specialize in Homeland in the State University of New York system? They are arguably the most inexpensive overall, and I’ve been quite happy with SUNY.

Thanks in advance!
