Homeless people at UF?

so....i went up to UF last week and I noticed that there were alot of panhandlers. like one in every corner of 13th? lol sorry i haven't mastered street names yet. are there alot of homeless people that wonder around campus?

i sure hope so

Yea, there's homeless people. They don't wander onto campus though, perhaps in the middle of the night. But campus police would move them if they were.

Why on Earth would you hope so Chamilitary?

I've never seen a homeless person on campus. However, there are quite a few in the bus station Downtown and on the corner of 13th street and university avenue.

it would make a more interesting experience...as long as they don't steal my bike...i also saw quite a few on 13th near a gas station

They hang out around 13th, downtown, down archer by the highway. But mostly downtown. They don't come onto campus.

They're not scary. They don't bother students anyways, they know we're broke. :p

I haven't seen any on campus. Even if you do, they are probably not violent since I haven't seen any incident in the Alligator or the Sun.

It is quite likely the homeless you refer to are veterans who served thier country in the armed services given the location of the presence of the malcom randall va medical center on campus. my heart goes out to them.

Lol, well I'm sure they appreciate it bluesky.

Some of them are scary. Me and my friends got called "sorry bastards" for not giving a guy money. Dude was yelling across the street at us and everything. We just wanted some ice cream. The key is, don't make eye contact and move quickly.

Calculus - What do you mean lol

I think that it's rather insulting to veterans that just because there is a medical center nearby for veterans that all homeless people in the vicinity have to be veterans. I think that's a bit presumptuous. :</p>

some of the panhandlers seemed pretty young... he had a dog and a knapsack.

i think i saw that guy when we were getting off I-75...we gave him some money for his dog
