Thank you HRSMom and JackM82. I have pretty much just studied, kind of independently without really disclosing my goals to anyone in person, but now that I have told people my plans, not just on this thread but in person, they’ve almost all agreed that I need to go the CC route, to get a GPA… I had hoped I wouldn’t have to, just because I’m starting so late and I don’t want more things to slow me down, but it looks necessary.
Again, thanks for all the advice. This is my first time on College Confidential, and although my OP was cringeworthy and had way too much detail, I’ve gotten great feedback and a swift kick from reality. It will be much harder than I had assumed, and it will take much longer.
Goodnight guys and gals.
Thanks pickpocket. Those admission stats are cut throat. I thought I was under pressure to perform, but I can’t imagine the stress those kids are going through. That’s unreal. A perfect ACT? That’s my goal, and yet those 36ers are being denied like someone bet Brown they couldn’t… Again, thanks for the info and advice.
As a fellow prospective philosophy major who wants to go to law school, your story really spoke to me. I can’t speak to your individual situation in terms of getting into college, but I can offer you advice as to schools that offer great phenomenal philosophy educations that give you a great chance at law school. Your original list does not encompass all of the possible schools out there where you can get a great philosophy education. Message me if you have any questions. Good luck.
Jarret, it’s a good plan, isn’t it? Philosophy majors get 2nd or 3rd highest LSAT scores. I believe the first is physics students, and way near the bottom, surprisingly enough, are government and prelaw majors. Philosophy and theology (because both are interwoven with formal logic) produce, as I’ve heard, some great law school candidates. Also, thanks for the reply and the kind words. I think we’ve both got a good plan.
