"homeschooled" student chances?

My school records are sketchier than most. I went to a highly competitive public high school freshman year, hated it, and switched to a tiny private high school for sophomore-junior years. This school had no challenging courses, only offered AP Calc AB and AP Spanish, no honors classes [as a sophomore, I took mainly junior courses, and as a junior, I took mainly senior courses, but you can't tell from my transcript.] I realized how royally screwed I was, and since my public school wouldn't admit me back, I became "homeschooled" for senior year and am taking community college classes and classes online. Chance me please :D

GPA: around 3.8-3.9 unweighted

rank: obviously I don't have one because I'm not in a school now, but freshman year I was 26/750 at the public high school, and junior year I was 5/50 at the small school.

I know that my transcript is obviously lacking, but will they take into account that my school didn't offer anything?

Your scores are really good. I think that the schools on your list will all be openminded about the school change and the homeschooling, and that you will do very well admissions-wise. Most of your schools are looking for interesting people who are excited about learning. Let that shine through. Don't waste a lot of space on the applications explaining your past- frame it in a positive way.

thanks :D i think my problem is i need to explain all my short comings. oy.

If possible I suggest to visit those schools you are applying to. Interview will let you discuss some of the things you might not find space on your appl to mention. Also geographic location will make a difference to you and to schools depending how much they will be interesting in you.
I do believe most of the schools you mentioned will care about shown interest from you so making a contact with adcom, participating in on line chat rooms/ I know Knox offers it/ is very helpful. My D is a freshman at Knox so if you have any questions, will be happy to answer.
knox will evaluate your appl as whole person so your essay and supplement should reflect all those things you want them to know.
