Homeschooling and college

hello: i did not know if this is the correct forum to post, but i'm searching info about homeschooling for my siblings.

if you are homeschooled, how do you apply for college without an "official" transcript?

when taking SAT/ACT test and are homeschooled, how do you go about to take the test?

in public school, you test and if you know the info you pass to the next grade. in homeschool setting, how does that work? (who/where do you test to make sure the child knows the proper info)

any links and/or info is greatly appreciated!

This should help

[Home Schooling and College - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/home-schooling-college/)

Transcript - the legal, homeschooling parent creates their own official transcript. There many sources to help with this step.

Testing - the student registers to take the ACT and/or SAT online at [A Student Site for ACT Test Takers | ACT Student](<a href=“The ACT Test for Students | ACT”>http://www.actstudent.org/) or [College Admissions - SAT - University & College Search Tool](http://www.collegeboard.org/) as all students do. THe PSAT is the only one with a different process. The parent must find a local school that will allow the student to test with theirs. The student must use his state’s home school code: [PSAT/NMSQT Codes for Home-Schooled Students](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools)

Homeschooling in general - your question is probably too broad for a forum like CC. There are many, many books, websites and organizations to help with how to actually homeschool successfully. Try a library search for books. HSLDA [HSLDA: Homeschooling Advocates since 1983](http://www.hslda.org/) is a good place to begin online for information about legal aspects and links to local organizations.
