I live on the east-coast (California) and I was wondering if anyone has been homesick during the school year. Do you visit home every now and then? What has it been like?

"I live on the east-coast (California)"

?????

Ahrg, I mean west coast.

Well I don't know how it feels to live on the other coast for school but I did go to Northwestern U. last year (Illinois, about- but not quite halfway from the coasts) and I was originally from New Jersey.

I did get a bit homesick during the first couple of weeks but once you meet some good friends you'll be fine. Still keep in touch with your parents though; it's up to you how frequently- it doesn't have to be everyday. In fact, calling too frequently may only increase the homesickness.

I don't think you will get homesick... I call my parents everday and talk for around 30 minutes to an hour and I enjoy doing it because I still really like the area I'm from. So, that really helps!

My roommate is from california and he's doing fine, I guess... although, I don't talk to him about it.

If you're who I think you are, I was middle school friends with that roommate.

Not homesick yet... is there something wrong w/ me?? Although the prospect of visiting the beach and not being able to see the sun set over the ocean gives me the creeps.

The first weeks of college are freaky. Then ur like - been there, done that. Where's the nasty-tastin dorm pizza?
