Okay, here is how i do my homework everynight. First, i get all the easy stuff done (like Math, Chemistry, or French), which takes about an 30 minutes to an hour on average. Next, I start working on the assignments that recquire a lot of time and devotion (like English papers, readings, and AP Euro). But I often find myself agonizing over starting these assignments because they take a long time and I'm lazy. Usually, WarCraft 3 or City of Heroes creeps into my screen at this time, and takes around 2 and a half hours of my time until I finally start the big assignments. I've been doing this for all my high school career, and I want to fix this because, currently, none of my school work is very challenging. I'm afraid that once the work does get challenging (i don't know when), I'll stuggle because i'm very inefficient at getting things done. So, i'm planning on reversing my homework order: do the hard things first when i'm "eager" to do schoolwork and the petty things that don't recquire a lot of mental power or effort last.

How do you guys usually go about doing your homework and what do you think of my plan?

i dont know if its for you but my teacher told me this and its really working for me.

work 1/2 hour and take a 10 or 5 min break and then work 1/2 more and break and so on.
Those breaks helps me not to get too bored with the homework so i dont no longer get into something else

sounds weird but it really does work for me and a lot of people i know

-- maybe this way you wont be so tired to start big assignments
hope it helps

I start with the hardest assignments or those that take the most time, and I always finnish them before dinner, because If I don't it'll get late, and I'll just totally forget about them

It's amazing how much homework you can get done during lunch. Especially if it's due the next period.

But really, just do your easy homework during class or any other free time you have during school, such as lunch or homeroom. Then you won't have to do anything at home except study for tests or do projects.

Oh, I do procrastinate after my dinner break, but i eventually get to work; i look forward to listening to the radio when i do my homework, not the hw but the music

Starting next week, this is how I'm going to do it.

Math - 1 hour
French - 30 minutes
English - 30 minutes
AP World History - 20 minutes
AP Human Geography - 30 minutes
Chorus - 20 minutes... in the shower.

this is basically how mine pans out:
AP Euro: 15 min.-1 hour
AP Bio: 15 min.-1 hour
English-1 hour-1.5 hours (this is strictly an essay writing class)
Chemistry-10 min.-20 min.
pre-calc- 15min-1.5 hours (only if i have a test)
spanish-5 min

I usually don't get home until about 9 after work/rehearsals, but after that I usually do math/physics first (about an hour), then any AP bio labs (bio reading I do on weekends), then greek (an hour at least), and AP english. So I guess it basically goes from kind of mindless (physics anyway, just plugging numbers in formulas) to hardcore concentration (greek) to just easy reading and responding (english)

Do any of you, while you're typing your essay or researching on the comp., find yourself browsing or playing games? I believe the main reason for my procrastination is my comp. Ugh! Can't stop it!

Gov't
Calc
English
Chem (if I get to it; yeah, I'm bad)

Tonight I'm going out of order because I still have to read 116 pages of a book for English, so tonight it'll be English and then maybe Calc & Chem if I'm not dead tired :D

Usually I do:
Spanish (during class when the teacher's not looking)
APUS (easiest thing to bs)
AP Chem (next easiest thing to bs, since homework's not really worth anything, so it doesn't matter if I get a C on the homework)
AP Calc - takes me anywhere between 1-7 hours. 1 hour for homework, the other 6 hours if I have to study because I don't get anything
English - Usually I never do homework for this class because it's never really collected, but for the reading, I just end up sparknoting and pinkmonkeying...then the day before a test, I'll actually read the book.

And yea, I'm distracted a lot on the computer. Like right now I'm supposed to be doing Spanish except I'm checking in with my fellow CCers ;)
