Honest Comments?

<p>Congrats on your achievement to date.</p>

<p>“I hope to make it unique and portray my tenacity in academics and success.”</p>

<p>That doesn’t seem very unique to me. Your essay isn’t to reinforce your transcript. it already shows your tenacity in academics. Essay readers want to know something about you. If all you are is a tenacious scholar – well, we all know how few of them are at Harvard – they’ll send the limousine to get you. NOT.</p>

<p>Tell them about what makes you laugh. Tell them something absurd. Tell them about you and why someone with your disposition, outlook on life, sense of humor, whatever will make a contribution to the Harvard community. Another tenacious scholar? Boring and one-dimensional. If all you are is a book worm and then to re-emphasize that fact in your essays? Then you’re toast, frankly.</p>
