I’ve posted in here before, but I just wanted some people to give me their honest opinions about PC. I am deciding between PC and the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Business for accounting. Although I completely appreciate UMass and the value it holds, I feel like PC has something a little extra with its Civ program and the family atmosphere on campus. Could anyone give me their opinions on this? PC was the first school I totally fell in love with and I just don’t know how I feel about UMass and its campus. I understand UMass is a state school and does not need to be a gorgeous campus in order to provide an excellent education, but I’m not sure how I feel about the size and the overall city vibe UMass puts off. Could someone speak to the pros and cons of PC’s smaller school vibe, and also how does it bode for me in the future? UMass may have a larger alumni network but how do PC business students bode after graduation?
Sorry I know this is a bit of a jumbled paragraph, I’m just having such a hard time deciding between the two schools. It seems like every time I try to chose UMass there’s something about PC that draws me back. The only thing really standing out to me from UMass is its business program and the many activities on campus. I’m lost.
PC has very loyal alumni. The School is small enough to have great access to professors but not so small that you lose some of the choices. Honest opinion about the civ program is that it is a nice nod to the liberal arts, but most, if not all the students feel it is a burden. They throw a party at the end of sophomore year to celebrate being done with it. The positive thing about the civ program is that it really does produce well rounded students with a wider view of the world. I am all in favor of well rounded education. Providence is a nice town. It is a short bus ride to downtown. There are good restaurants downtown, as well as Federal hill and over near Brown. The school really has a lot to offer.
I am a scientist, but do very well watching Jeopardy because of civ!!!
