Ok, there's something I need to get of my chest. Ever single time I see the movie Rudy,,,,,,,,,,,,, I shed a tear. Now before you call me a pussy....just wait. The story of his hard work and determination is unmatched by anyone i have ever known. The way he constantly tries to get into ND...with no luck. He finally gets in.....then he cant make the football team...... Then the coach says that he has a spot......then that coach gets fired.........Finally he ends up on that field when nd plays G tech. The crowd starts chanting... Rudy.... Rudy....Rudy......then that imfamous music starts playing.....and right when hes about to run down the field....I loose it................Alright i said it..its off my chest .....i guess im a pussy............but honesty, have u ever cried during rudy??????

I can't say I've cried, but I also don't blame you at all...I'm usually pretty close. Especially with that music...I don't know what it is, but it definitely tugs at the old heartstrings a little bit!

I cry when I watch Rudy.

I also cry when I watch a lot of movies.

I'm soft.

Whatever.

I'm man enough to express my emotion! Hahaha!

I did cry the first few times i saw rudy...I'm not going to lie. Now, though every time i watch it,, right when that music plays,,i get a goosebump explosion throughout my body.......damn i love that movie

Lol, I'm a girl and I didn't cry when I watched it- but I can't blame you guys, it is a very touching movie!

oh i ball. everytime. which is pretty amazing because my oldest brother would watch it and rewind and watch all over again every day, when we were little. But still to this day, every time i watch, i cry. I'm a softy.

I don't cry on Rudy, nor did I cry when I was accepted at Notre Dame... but when I saw my Dad after getting accepted. Oh, there were tears then. It was something else, he was completely confused and was like...is it good or bad? It was rediculous. It was the only time I ever cried because I was happy.

Come one Irish, not even when you saw it the first time??

The real Rudy play in case some of you haven't seen it. Starts with the touchdown so you have to wait a minute.

wow. thats pretty tight

I think the real story of Rudy is not the one in the movie, but the story of a guy who graduated a long time ago, was utterly directionless for a number of years, and landed this incredible film deal that has weaved him into the Notre Dame legend. I think more has been made of his story and of him than is warranted. Nice story, but, given the rich history of the university and the kind of people it has produced, I think he's gotten a high profile top spot mainly on a fluke.

That is one way to look at it. Another is that he should be teaching a marketing class here at the university because he marketed himself beautifully and now has a full time job as a motivational speaker!

Overall I agree with you in your assessment of him. I have talked with him before and he isn't the brightest guy, but he found a way to use what he had and to do something amazing with it so I can't dispute that. However, I agree that it unfortunately shadows some of the other amazing people who have come from this University, which is part of the reason (I think at least) that ND features them in their ads. I don't think you will ever see a ND ad with Rudy.

The real story isnt a good one.
