Honestly, is it even worth it?

excuse me adummb05 but private schools are simply not an easy route into elite colleges. There's a reason why so many kids from elite private schools go to elite colleges, its not the money, its the fact that private schools are better. Take my school for example, which has an SAT median of 1490, and the highest rate of attendance at HYP in the nation. I'll admit, more money means more SAT tutoring, but in the end, who is taking the test.

And by the way, plenty of kids who go to private schools and dont peform at the top of the class end up at schools considered to be not as strong as ivies and their equivalents.

Also, private schools have entrance exams, it (ok, i'll be honest, almost) doesnt matter how much money you have, if you dont score high enough, you're not gonna get in.

"tolle minas"-Turnus

I concur with the private school thought. My high school average is probably 1400+ or so, I don't really know. We are smart kids and most of us don't have the SAT tutors, even though we probably could afford them. Kids can be rich and smart it does happen and don't think that these smart kids shouldn't get into good schools because they had the money to go to a good high school in addition to college.

Actually, when I said "private schools" I was referring to private colleges or universities for undergrads. And I was making a joke.

But I'm still right.

my cousin a brown alum has two sons who did not get into Brown, and they were great students. So... legacy doesn't equal getting accepted!

Hell yeah it's worth it

I got great financial aid so I'm paying like $2500 a year to attend
