I did not take them and so, I was deferred...But I took them in November and got Spanish-800 and Math 2- 760, and then took in December and I'm guessing, a 700 on Bio and a 750 on French .....Will this have any weight in my admissions...

Also, my class rank went from 17 to 11/565....So, will it matter, or do I still have no shot at G-town???

i think it will make a difference. i mean they look over are apps again and it’ll probably be less competetive bcuz ea is like they only admit you if they are absolutly sure you’d get in during rd.

I got a 610 on my Chem SAT II, would this be enough to tip the scales against me? Thankfully, I got a 740 on USH to balance it out, and my regular SAT’s are decent, but that 610 is really worrying me…any thoughts?

i kind of bombed the sat II for french as well… (650)

i applied to sfs, but didn’t bother retaking it since i thought my french activities and coursework would show i was knowledgeable of and committed to the language.

I guess I had the same question: could this have been the deciding factor in my ea application, and if so, will it be as important come RD?

@hellohoya: SAT II’s probably aren’t the ONLY deciding factor. I guess it’s a more holistic approach then, but having good SAT II’s doesn’t hurt.

well if it makes anyone feel any better … i just got in withh a 530 SAT II chem which beats all of ur low 600’s lol. i had no like hook/connection either. soo i dont think a bad subject test can ruin ur shot :)

SAT II scores are quite honestly the LAST thing the admissions officers will look at. Remember, aside from your academics, they are looking for a well rounded person. Therefore, the important aspects of YOU lie in your extracurriculars, essay, recommendations, etc. Plus, I heard that if you’ve taken an AP exam in that same subject area, and performed better than on the SAT II, they will overlook the poor score.

^I agree with saxophone girl. Like I’ve said before, there’s a million people who have great test scores. With enough work, anybody could (in theory) get some 800s. But can everyone win a national art award, volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, or become an Eagle Scout? No. Things like that take talent, patience, and character.

It’s this mindset that’s getting me through until Monday when I get my letter. I’ll probably be one of the lowest-scoring people that may get in from this board!! :P
