<p>It should be. But if you’re in, say, California or New York, where I believe the SAT presides over the ACT, sending in ONLY an ACT score might have a teeny weeny little effect on your application. Might. If you live in midwestern state or somewhere where the ACT is the main focus, it shouldn’t matter at all. I don’t really know what goes on in admissions officers’ heads.</p>

<p>I don’t think there is any college (at least of all the typical ones on cc) that looks down on the ACT in any way, shape, or form. Even if it is a NY or CA school.</p>
