honesty!

REMOTELY ANY possibility at brown with a 1370 M+V?

just lay it on me.

p.s. i'm white

thats low for even low ivy's

without a stellar rank and above average EC's you will be a long shot. whats your entire profile?

jewess-
(dont listen to a high school student who just joined these boards)

The SAT-Verbal 25%-75% range is: 660-760
the math 25%-75% range is: 670-770

compare your scores.

the sat's are actually fairly lopsided...
cr: 750
m: 620
w: 720 (11 essay)
I'll probably retake after some intensive with barron's over the summer, I think I deserve much better than that.

SAT II's tba...

solid GPA
4/365

4.3 weighted (just core classes 4.5) and definitely 4.0 UW

decent EC's...
most of my time spent tutoring/homework help with the learning disabled/others
music
class president sophomore year
humanities awards
honor societies
viola for 7 years
massSTAR leadership seminar representative
massachusetts girls state representative
camp counselor each summer (haha)
outstanding contribution awards
history student of the year award (lame)
french tutor
youth group advisor
diversity organization (presented a media presentation on prejudice to the junior high)
volunteered with breast cancer associations

If anything it would be your EC's that will keep you out of Brown, so work on those, your list seems kind of mundane to me. Granted, your SAT's aren't stellar but they aren't unacceptable either.

SAT is good, high CR is always better than high Math!

again, there is no question this school is a reach but I'm just trying to figure out if this is like a ....
5/95 reach
a 30/70 reach
or if there is some semblance of a chance, you know?

is it worth applying ED? (i adore brown)

for sure it is worth applying, but try to do something unique and significant this summer and you will have a much better shot at getting in.

Brown is one of the few top schools whose early acceptance rate is almost shockingly higher than its regular rate. It is of course ED rather than EA (which means it is binding if you are accepted unless you pick a state school offering lots of merit money or something), but Brown tends to suffer from being used as a safety by people applying to HYPS. By applying ED, they know they can actually have you if they accept you, so you stand a much better chance of getting in. So YES YES YES it is worth applying ED!!!

Early action acceptance rate: 28%
Acceptance rate for valedictorians: 35%
SAT I score (25/75 percentile) 1290-1490

Have you been thinking about your essays?

if that's true then it's certainly not out of the question...

ADad- yes!

Writing is my passion....
