I have submitted my application for the elite scholarship and am awaiting the results of that.
I am not signed up for Honors College. Will being signed up for the Honors College increase my chances of getting an Elite Scholarship?

Thanks and War Eagle

I do not think Honors College will impact your scholarship. I would recommend considering it, however. The Honors advisors are very helpful … You can always drop it later if it does not meet your needs. Elite scholarships are very competitive at Auburn. The year my son applied we were told the cut score for awards was 34. Good luck and enjoy. It is a special place.

My act is a 34 now, my username is from a few months ago haha. Anyway, thanks! I should be hearing back any day now. It sounds like your son did the Honors college, did he enjoy it? Did he think the classes were harder/ required more work?

My son applied for Honors College at Auburn. I’d be very interested in anyone’s experience with the program. He will be engineering. His stats:
ACT 34
GPA 3.7 uw
It’s tough, at least according to my son who was in the Honors but couldn’t keep the GPA. Depending on your major, it might not be as difficult but the engineering honors maths and sciences are difficult regardless of your AP scores coming in. Time crunch is a concern and if you are in a lot of clubs/activities it can get stressful. My son loved the interdisciplinary classes and seminars though. Just keep a good eye on your grades and be prepared to drop Honors to keep your GPA up.
When do Honors notifications go out? We’re waiting to hear.
I was looking into honors as well. I’ve applied. I know someone who was in it and she said it was definitely worth it.
