Honor College/Merit award

I got the presidential award today too! $10k per year! My parents were happy… and I’ll definitely commit pending I’m accepted to the honors college.
I’m getting paranoid. No word on it yet.
I really, really want to get into the honors college.

Can you post how much of a scholarship offer you received if you haven’t already? S got offered a scholarship but as OOS it doesn’t do much since UVM is so expensive.

If you got more than $11,000 per year, are you a NM Finalist?

Thanks and GL

website states presidential is up to $11k for out of state…stats of 1800SAT and top 20%. For those not expecting a large award, did yu not have the above stats?

Trustee scholarship from $2-7k with 1650 SAT

must keep 3.0 GPA

My son was awarded the Presidential Scholarship - 10K per year for 4 years.

He had the SATs but not the class rank, but since he goes to a very hard school and they do not rank, they may have made a judgement that he was top 20%. I was expecting around 5K based on what people received last year - seems like UVM has raised their merit which is a very good thing!

I got a letter inviting me to the honors college about a week and a half ago. Yesterday I got a scholarship letter- $11K / year for 4 years! UVM was at the bottom of my list but these two thinks kind of put it up a bit.

S received Trustee Scholarship yesterday for $7K per year! Totally unexpected, but very appreciated! UVM is a top choice!

mom 2009…do you mind posting your son’s stats. I’m hoping for the Trustee for my son(well acceptance first, lol). Decisions for EA will be posted tomorrow.

My daughter’s SAT score was 1950, GPA of 4.07, in top 15% of class, and she was offered $11K a year ($44,000 total) with the Presidential scholarship.

I think it must be the other things on her transcript that put her in the high award bracket. She will graduate with 7 AP’s, is a AP scholar with honors, multiple leadership positions in clubs, and is a Congressional Award recipient

I had a 1250/1600, 1830/2400, 8 AP/IB’s, all Honors, 94 weighted GPA. Lots of strong Leadership, Athletics and other. I received $10,000/yr Presidential Scholarship. Haven’t heard anything about Honors College.

Daughter got $11,000 with 3.98 UW and 4.56 W, 1910 SAT, NHS President, 5 APs, 2 Varsity sports (captain on 1 team), 125+ service hours. No word on honors college.

Congrats! What was your stats.

I got the presidential scholarship $11,000 a year and got accepted to the honors college!

where are you all finding this scholarship information? My admission decision online says admit, but that’s all. Not to sound pretentious, but I was expecting to get some money :stuck_out_tongue: 2160 and 99 gpa

I believe those getting the scholarship info were VIP applicants. The EA applicants should be receiving merit info in the mail soon.

I have a similar concern. I applied EA (no VIP or anything) and got my decision online Wednesday (accepted). I got a letter congratulating me on admission today. I’ve heard nothing about the honors college, and nothing about any scholarship money. I’m ranked 1 of 318 in my class, I got a 2150 on the SAT, and I have a good amount of extracurriculars/volunteer work. Not to sound like a conceited jerk, but I thought I was a pretty good candidate for the honors college and for scholarships. Have they just not told me about this stuff yet, or does No News mean Bad News?

They likely just have not told you yet. Only the VIP kids seem to have their merit info pretty close to the time they had their accepts. Hopefully you’ll still hear more before year end. Good luck!

My son got his merit award two weeks after acceptance, so give it more time! Good luck!
