Honor/GPA relationship to quality of coop

Does being in the honors colllege and/or having a high(er) gpa make you stand out in the coop applications and get you the more prestigious, higher quality, bettery paying co-op internships? I was just wondering if all NEU business applicants were really created equal in the coop program. any advice or opinion AT ALL would be much appreciated, as I am seriously considering this school! thanks!

Based on the information we were given in the presentation on the honors program at the EA Welcome Day, being in the program definitely helps with -your co-op. Think about it, it is a big plus on your resume when applying. That's not to say kids in non-honors don't get good co-ops, I personally know two current students, one in engineering, one in business and they both have amazing co-op jobs right now. Same thing goes for high gpa, when an employer is comparing resumes that inevitably would be something they would look at.

how much money do students makes on co-ops? i know it varies, but a rough estimate for anyone you know about would be much appreciated

I know a middler that is in his second engineering co-op making $22/hr. and a senior in her third business co-op making $18. I don't know how representative that is, but I have heard that co-ops average at $14-$18/hr.

thank you!

any other personal experience/wisdom/advice on this topic? thanks again!

bump......

That pay seems about right. Your GPA, clubs, course selection and honors status all have to do with how quickly you get offers and how good they are, but become less so when you get some recommendations from employers on there.
