I received a call today telling me that I am a finalist for one of the Honorary Scholars scholarship (Moog, Lien, etc.). I also received an e-mail confirming this.

congratulations...i was gonna apply for the Mylonas (another Honorary Scholars Program) but in the end I decided not to because i didn't feel like doing more essays. All I applied to was the Danforth, Ervin and Rodriguez

Does not receiving a phone call/e-mail indicate that one is not a finalist?

I am including a copy of a pervious post as follows: There are two Scholar Interview weekends. The first takes place March 23 - 26 and is for the Danforth, Ervin, Rodriguez and a few other programs. Last year semifinalist invitations were sent out the next to last week in February. Based on last year, I would expect invitations to go out this week. The second weekend takes place April 6 - April 9 and is for the Honorary Scholars program in arts & science. This includes the Compton, Mylonas, Moog and a few other programs. Invitations for this should be going out about the same time. Attendance is mandatory and all expenses are paid for by WashU.

I believe that the approximate numbers for last year were as follows:
Danfort Nominated 900 Awarded 16
Rodriguez Applied 1,200 Awarded 25
Ervin Applied 1,500 Awarded 30

Some of the above were not full tuition, but partial tuition awards. Some of the applicants applied for/were nominated for more than one award.

I would assume that if you did not receive some form of notification within the next two weeks, then you were not selected as a semifinalist.

How are the Danforth kids notified? Snail mail, email, telephone, or a combo?

Thanks.

Congrats.

For which of the four Honorary Scholars scholarships are you in the running?

Thanks.

I was notified about Danforth by a phone call yesterday, followed by an email today.
