Honors and Financial Awards

If I have a 2010 SAT/ 30 ACT do you think i would have a chance to “work something out” as well by calling?

Dnerd said something about “significantly improving”
what is considered a “significant improvement”?

^ Yeah, they just received my SAT score from December and I got emails about both my honors college invitation and the Freshman University Scholarship ($1,200 per semester) today.

Nice job DNerd – congratulations!

I wish my daughter had been able to pull a couple more points out of the ACT.

you still can. we talked to a scholarship director today and he said that they will take up to the february test for scholarships and honors. i’m so excited. i was an idiot and stuck with the 28 i got in june and fell short of honors by 1. so im sending in my first semester grades and going to study like crazy for the feb. ACT and hopefully i’ll get some $$ and honors

Thanks for the post Palmbeach – I am going to sign her up today. Nice to know that there is hope!

Thanks LTG! Good luck to both your daughter and palmbeach.

Just a warning (directed mostly to Palmbeach)-- today (1/05/10) is the last day to sign up for February’s ACT without a penalty fee.

yeah i signed up on the fifth, but thanks for watchin out

did anybody get the out of state tuition reduction scholarship?

Does anyone know anything about the Medical Scholars program? My daughter got in Honors and is eligible to apply for it. How difficult is it to get in, and how many actually make it in to medical school? According to the website, you need a 3.5 GPA and 26 on the MCAT, which isn’t as high as some combined programs, but still a challenge. Thanks.

Do you guys know if deferred students can get scholarships or into the honors college once they find out in March? I was deferred with low test scores but brought them up to a 28 on the ACT and a 1850 on the SAT (taking again this Saturday) and my gpa should go up to at least a 4.0. I’m not sure if that is good enough, but I could always petition it.
