<p>I am currently a Sophomore at a public High School that is ranked in the top 5% in the nation. (class rank 78/546)</p>
<p>I have taken zero honors or ap courses but I have a 4.0 gpa so far.
I am planning on taking honors next year.</p>
<p>My question is: How much will my lack of honors courses effect my admitance to VT?</p>
<p>Can't you start taking AP classes next year? this would go a long way into increasing your chance.</p>
<p>Next year you should try to take as many honors as possible however I think you should think twice before you jump from regular to AP as AP classes are very demanding, however if you feel your ready you can give it a try. To answer your other question most schools don't weigh Freshmen year as heavily as your sophomore, junior & senior(1st Semester) years so if you keep up your grades, show a continuous increase in the rigor of your High School Classes and do pretty well on your ACTs/SATs you should be fine for VT.</p>
