Any idea when we will hear back from UGA about Honors Program auto-admission?

two to three weeks after ea release is generally when the letters go out

Will we be informed via mail, or online?

What are the ACT/SAT/gpa scores that generally get auto-accepted. MY DS stats are
34 ACT/2150 SAT/3.895 unweighted gpa… Any chance he might get auto accepted?
He would really prefer not to have to write another essay.:)

On our campus visit, the dean of the honors college told the group that if we hadn’t received a letter by mid-December, assume you didn’t get in on auto-admit.

I have a son who is a sophomore in the honors program and he was accepted uner the auto-admit placement. They found out EA and he recieved a congratulations letter from honors on the Tuesday a week later, which was exactly 11 days after EA decisions went online. These decisions come out by letter and if you do not get one, you are not invited at that time. There is no letter saying you do not get in because you never applied. I think this will be put off by a week this year becase when he was a senior, EA release was on Dec. 15, but this year EA release is the week before THanksgiving and the school is closed this week. So I think letters will go out hopefully end of next week to be received the next week. His stats were a 1550 for CR and Math, a 4.0 gpa and 7 out of 7 Ap classes. My senior this year has a lower SAT, but we are keeping our fingers crossed.

sorry for the typos- i was talking to my husband while typing!

So it sounds like we’ll hear by mail in mid-December?

@MichiganGeorgia, I believe the average SAT (CR+M) is a 1430, and the average GPA, calculated by UGA’s method, is a 4.06.

Has anyone been notified yet?

Nope. I bet they don’t go out until at least next week. Let’s agree to post if either of us gets a letter- because I would rather know they went out rather than wait indefinitely! Good luck!

Yes please do post. My son would like to know if he needs to write another essay…

On another post it says that scholarships are showing up on MyStatus!! It is getting exciting now!

I’ve been checking the mail, but nothing yet…

Has anyone gotten an Honors auto admit letter? I think they would start mailing soon…

Nothing here.

Nothing yet.

nothing yet. have 2 other friends that are hopeful. Stats are all 3 of us are .o and took max rigor, with a 1510, 1500 and 1540 sat cr and math. We all promised to let each other know if anyone recieves a letter- all 3 live in different towns. I promise to let you know if and when any of the three get a letter- please do the same for me. With about six of us looking, we can be pretty sure they did not go out yet if NONE of us have gotten one.
Curious- what are yalls stats.

Still nothing - 1550 SAT, 35 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA

update - Just got the letter!

congrats upside down!!! Was it a letter inviting you to honors? What town do you live in? Nothing in our mail!

I live in Duluth, GA in Gwinnett County – and yes it was a letter saying I was accepted into the 2013 Honors Program first year class. It’s a large packet (same size as the UGA acceptance packet) but inside is only a letter and an enrollment form.

Thank you!!! Good luck to everyone else!
