Honors/Awards

My school doesn't really give out any awards other than honor roll. Each department does give out a student of the year award, but those are given out to seniors at the end of the year, so I didn't have the opportunity to win any of those.

However, there are a few things that I might be able to put down beyond the honor roll, but I'm not sure if these are legitimate honors or not. I was chosen as an honorary flag holder for a basketball game last year, and I was also chosen as an usher for this year's graduation ceremony. I don't think those are typical awards, but I was chosen by the faculty for both and was recognized at each event.

I'm thinking I should add them, because it's always better to have more than less, but I'd like to get some other opinions on it just to be sure.

Those aren’t true awards. Don’t include them in the awards category. You can mention them in your essay or extracurriculars though.

Alright, that makes sense.

Your teachers will write about those things if they were impressed by them :)
