Honors B vs non-honors A

My son, who wants to go to Tech (he is a sophomore) is taking a tough Honors courseload and will continue to do so throughout high school. My question is, is it better to get Bs in Honors courses or to get As in non-honors courses? Do colleges look strictly at the GPA or do they REALLY notice that H or AP next to the course type?

Bs in Honors...definitely

You bet they do, especially APs.

Since they should be the same as far as the GPA goes the B in Honors.

Well if someone had all A's in regular courses and decent SATs, theyd probably get into tech. But id take the B honors kid.

Definatly a B in honors. When a representative from tech came to my school they said the first thing they look at when reviewing an application is courseload. They also do not look at any of your elective classes of language.
