I am curious, since Carolina is my number one choice, what kind of person gets into Honors carolina? I am not sure if they look at extracurriculars and stats like they do in the admission process? Then pick the best of the best? If you don't make into Honors your first year can you make it in later??? Any information would be great, thank you.

You can apply to the Honors college in later years if you are not accepted as a freshman. You can also take honor’s classes (if space is available) even if you are not an honor’s student.

I suspect that students are invited into Honors based on a holist review. It is not strictly a number game.

Thank you, this helps a little. It’s nice to know people can take honors even if they are not “honors”. :)

From what I’ve heard there’s a certain cutoff by test scores then a holistic review afterwards.
