Honors Chances

I am considering attending Rutgers but I would like to be in the honors program if possible. Do I have a good chance of getting in? I am worried that I will not be accepted because my class rank is so low.

SAT:
CR: 790
Math: 690
Writing: 650

GPA: 3.7-3.8
I am in the 4th decile in my class (I go to one of the most difficult high schools in NJ)
New Jersey resident

I am currently enrolled in:
AP U.S History
Next year I am enrolled in:
AP Psychology
AP Literature and Composition
Maybe AP Language and Composition and/or AP Computer Science

Extracurriculars:
Sorted vegetables for a co-op for 4-5 years
In a high school band for 4 years
Volunteered at my local historical society
Interned at the New York Historical Society (hopefully I will this coming summer)

Well… lets put it this way.
I had a
600 CR
750 Math
760 Writing

4.0 weighted gpa
top 25% of my hs (which is number 4 in NJ)

and along with extra curriculars… and a lot of other stuff

i didnt get in.

dont get too bummed out if you apply and dont get in. you just need a 3.7 to be in it as a sophomore

Oh well…=( I was hoping for honors but I think I can do well at Rutgers if I go there so hopefully I could make the honors program my sophmore year. Thanks for the information though

thats really wierd that you didnt get in? does your high school rank? I got into it with a 3.49 uw gpa and a 700 on critical reading, 690 on math, 710 on writing. I was just outside of the top 20% of my class with weight gpa at like a 3.7.

Do you have to apply to be in SAS honors at RU? Because I was sent a letter about a month ago saying that I got in and I never applied or anything. My GPA is 4.07, (weighted, I don’t know the unweighted) and my SATs were CR-800, math-580, writing-730

you are offered the hp but apply if you aren’t initially offered.
