I'm a freshman.
Soph-honors chem or level one?
I know its more of critical thinking. What would you suggest? I'm more of a memorization person.
I have all honors next year except chem and spanish. I'm not an overachiever type person, I'm up there but not THERE. In my 9th grade class I might by in top 25 range.
Please keep that in mind...and also that I'm not superb at science.

Honors chem was pretty easy at my school. I wouldn’t know about your school but you could get by with just raw memorization. There is not much complex math involved and much of the thinking is just formulaic. I had a B+ even though I didn’t do much homework. It depends on the teacher and the school though.

@existential12 thanks for your input.

anyone else?

I would take Honors Chemistry. If you don’t want to take it because it would look better, you could also consider that students in higher level classes tend to be more serious, so you won’t have many distractions. Odds are, you’d learn more in Honors not only because of the different curriculum, but also because of the atmosphere of the classroom itself.

I took Honors Chemistry and at my school its a more challenging class, but I absolutely LOVED it. The depth of the learning was superb and I would highly recommend it.

Thanks guys. Do you think I can handle the work along with 3 other honors and 1 APUSH?
I want to do well in all classes. Do you think I can get better at science because I’m not awesome at science. I have A in Bio Level 1 now, but on tests/quizzes the min. score is 87, average 89/90.

I think that it’s definitely possible. I haven’t taken AP US History, but this year, I was a sophomore taking AP World and AP Bio along with some honors classes, including Chemistry. That isn’t to say that it won’t be difficult at times, but if you put the time and effort, it’s more than possible.

It honestly depends on the difficulty of the other honors. I did it along with 3 honors? what is APUSH? I am not familiar with that term. You don’t want to overwhelm yourself. But colleges look at the rigor of your classes as well as the grade. If you get an A- in Hon Chem, it will be more impressive than an A in regular chem.

thanks for your help!

APUSH is AP US History-acronym APUSH
I have honors algII, eng, and AP us history. adding on chem honors?

Oh my goodness, I know that. I’m sorry. That was so stupid. Yes. You could do that. That’s what I had. It’s completely doable. You just have to apply yourself.
