Hi,
I am a current high school freshman and I am thinking about taking honors chemistry over the summer so I can take Honors Physics Sophomore year. My counselor said if I take Chemistry over the summer it will be a Pass or fail class (I'm obviously going to pass). If I take it during the school year, it will be a letter grade. What do you guys think is the better option? I get credit for the class either way. Do you guys think colleges wouldn't like a pass/fail course even though it is to get ahead? Please help as I have to decide on my courses soon.

I think it’s fine, but just wondering. What motivated you to do this?

Well, I just really love science. I also want to major in engineering in college and therefore I want to take as many AP science and math classes as possible. I also want be valedictorian of my class. Our school is pretty competitive so I want to be the best of the best.
