since the rosters aren't too big I think I'll get pt lol.

Could someone please tell me about the club sports/ intramural sports scence at tulane, what it's like, its good and bad points, time commitments.

seems like one of the great things about a bigger school, lots of club sports lol.

I have heard this from my friend about what he enjoys about the honors program: smaller classes, community based feel with fellow honors students, more course selecton and interesting curriculum, surrounded by peers who can do advanced academics (I don't care what ppl's academic levels are like when we're just chilling, but surrounded by ppl at my academic level while doing classwork.

IS this true? What's the honors program like? In the honors housing, are all the honors kids kind of in a tight-knit community where many people know each other and hang out together?

Honestly...I am not really worried about being in the Honors college when it comes to an already selective school like Tulane. You shouldn't really have much fear of people not being at your academic level in schools such as this one, I mean avg ACT of a 30, its basically an Honors college to begin with. For me being in an Honors college would be far more important if I decide to go to a large public school.

Yeah I know I was really surprised with how selective its gotten over the past couple years (27 percent acceptance rate and average act of 30- getting a 30 on the act is quite difficult)- I was just saying what my friend said.

While the honors kids do get to know each other initially, especially if they all share the honors dorm, they certainly don't hang out exclusively with other honors kids. Most students in the honors college only take 1 or 2 honors courses each semester... They also take 'regular' sessions of various courses. Being in the honors college does have the advantage of indeed having smaller enrollment for certain courses. Just remember tough that the criteria of 3.4 for 1st & 2nd year; and 3.6 for 3rd and 4th year can be tough depending upon your choice of study.

i think i saw somewhere that the average ACT at Tulane was a 31. Where did y'all see that it was a 30?

whatever, it's still pretty darn good. I was really surprised to get into the honors college with a 32.

wait here it is. from wikipedia so take it with a grain of salt

"2008 undergraduate applications: 34,117[29]
2008 freshman class size: 1,550[29]
SAT scores (middle 50%): 1880–2150[29]
ACT scores (middle 50%): 28–32[29]
Average SAT/ACT: 1365/31
Acceptance rate: 27%[29]
75% of Tulane's student body comes from more than 500 miles (800 km) away.[3]"

i have a 31 act i hope i get into honors. i was val with a 3.9 gpa (uw) so i think i have a good chance.

im applying to brown and a few other places though. cant decide between southern ivy, lac, or brown
