I was accepted to UNC online at their portal on 1/25/2013 and a few days later I got the Excel@Carolina email. I selected the honors program as my top choice and today I received both the email congratulating me that I was accepted, the paper pamphlet, and honors program acceptance letter. However, I still haven't received an acceptance letter in the mail. Is this normal? Does UNC not mail out acceptance packets? Any response would be much appreciated.

I'm just a little confused and excited to know that I got into the honors program. I really love opening mail lol, so I'd love to have it ASAP.

I got the same email that FightTheTide got, didn’t fill out the survey (yet), and got my selection to Honors Carolina letter today. I think since it’s a much smaller number of people to send HC letters to, they decided to get that out of the way first, especially considering that the deadline is next week.

So, aiyegbeni, you got an invitation letter to the Honors College before you filled out the survey, right? It’s nice you know about that before your survey.

I’m hoping they just take my 2-5 spots and move them up accordingly. I’d really still like to be able to do a summer study abroad. Since it’s so popular and we normally only get 1 of the 5 selected, I’m hoping I can still get it. The letter sent to me was dated from before I made the online selections. Anyways, I hope the actual acceptance letter comes soon.
