My acceptance letter came in the mail today. What a nice Christmas present. :)

They scared me though, because they sent it in a little thin envelope. Ha.

A friend of mine got his acceptance letter like two weeks ago, and another friend is still awaiting his.

Just wanted to inform any other Honors College CCers who were still waiting for decisions.

I'm not sure where I'll be going in the fall; it depends on money. One small in-state liberal arts college that I love has offered me close to a full ride that's hard to refuse, so we'll see if USC or others will beat that out.

Forgot to say congrats on getting accepted!

Did you get your application in earlier than the deadline? That may be why you heard so soon. My son , typical male, waited until the absolute deadline, so his app didn't get there until Dec 1.

He will definitely go to USC if the HC is positive and he gets at least a Cooper.

He still may go without the HC, but not if he doesn't get the Cooper.

Good luck with your decision on which school to attend.

I guess I won't be getting my letter for a while... our mail is sent to my grandma's house in the States... and she's visiting us (overseas) until January. Haha.

I can't believe they don't email decisions nowadays.

I sent my app in at the very beginning of November. I think it depends on when you sent it in, because my friend who got his a couple weeks ago sent his in earlier, and my friend who hasn't gotten his yet sent his in later. Don't worry, namtrag. Oh, and thanks,thumper1, for the info about the scholarships--The thin envelopes always scare me, though I have yet to receive a rejection (knock on wood).

Good luck to everyone else who's still waiting--It's almost over!

We got it in today's mail. I called home and told my wife that some kids got them already, and she went out and checked, and the acceptance was in there!

Now, we wait on scholarships. Can't attend there unless it's at least as cheap as in-state here in Va.

I feel pretty confident he will get at least a Cooper ($4,000 per year, plus in-state tuition status).

Congrats to all and Namtrag...a special congrats to your S who wants to be a Gamecock so badly...hope that Cooper letter comes soon..and yes it is in a thin envelope!
To all accepted..if you need any dorm questions answered,I'll be glad to help.

aw thanks guys! that would be amazing to get the mcnair invite....heck i just wanna go to south carolina...even just for a visit. lol but the full ride would be nice too :-P

when will we hear about scholarships? january? do they send us plane tickets?

the McNair weekend last year was either the 2nd or 3rd weekend in Feb(don't remember).S was invited at the last minute by phone b/c someone dropped out,but the others heard a few weeks before that.He had heard about his other scholarship(Cooper,Lieber) prior to that call.If you are invited, you get 2 plane tickets (you and a parent) plus hotel stay and all meals. We decided to add the 2nd parent so we could all see the campus.
Basically they keep you busy the entire time. They even pick you up at the airport!!
