I was accepted into UM a couple of weeks ago, and still haven't received an Honors program applicaiton (which they notified me through mail about a month ago). I already emailed the honors program people and told them I was interested. Are we supposed to contact them and request an application? Or is there a place where we could download it?
Thanks!

I think later in the year they ask you to write an additional optional essay if you want to be considered for Honors. But otherwise, your application for admission is your application for Honors. As long as you sent them the e-mail they'll consider you, to the best of my knowledge.

I'm in Honors right now, and I did not turn in anything extra. No extra essays, nothing. They evaluate your application, and if they want you, you'll get in. It's good that you displayed interest, it can only help. If you want, contact the Honors office directly, maybe by phone. But you don't fill out any separate application or essay.

"Applying to the Honors Program is a straightforward process. First, send us a quick email at honors.admissions@umich.edu saying you would like to be considered for admission to the Program. Next, complete and return the standard admissions application for U-M's LSA. Once you've been admitted to the College, we weill invite you to submit an optional extra essay to be considered as part of your application for admission to the Honors Program"

--letter from the director of the Honors Program inviting me to apply for Honors

Maybe they changed stuff this year.

hmmm...yeah...there was no extra work to get into Honors...it just happened.

May I quickly correct a semantic error..the thread title says "honors college"....hmmm.....well.....LSA honors is NOT a degree granting unit, merely and academic program. This is UNLIKE most schools....so be aware!
