Honors College at Rutgers New Brunswick....chance me?

Hi all,
I’m a senior interested in attending the Honors College at Rutgers New Brunswick. I’d be applying through the School of Arts & Science AND/OR the School of Business. Would anyone be able to estimate my chances? Thanks!

Cumulative GPA: 4.55 (weighted)

Rank: Top 10% (probably valedictorian but still unconfirmed)

SAT (superscore): 1490 (780 reading / 710 Math)

Classes: The highest level my school offers is “Honors.” My school does not offer AP/IB.
I have taken all available honors classes during my time in high school. I have also received dual enrollment college credit for 3 classes.

Extra Curricular Activities:

  • Founder and President of my school’s Model United Nations club (10-12 grade)
  • Employed as an assistant at a dentist office (10-12 grade)
  • Student Government - Secretary (officer position) (11th grade)
  • Student Government - Representative (10th grade)
  • Attended Model UN conferences at Boston College (2017) and St Peters University (2016)
  • School Newspaper - (9-10 grade)
  • Two, week-long volunteer mission trips (South Dakota in 2015 and Mexico in 2017)
  • Volunteer camp counselor at my church’s summer camp (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017)

Assume you are in state? I think your chances are very good. Our valedictorian this year,similar stats, got a full ride. Another student with lower stats also got in but without the free ride! Good luck!

I think with your GPA, you should have a very high chance of getting into the Honors College. Also, your school sends in a “school profile” that explains their academic curriculum, so you should be able to get away without having APs. Good luck!
