Honors College/Competition/Fin Aid

I got my acceptance to the Honors College before I even received the acceptance letter to UVM. A bit confusing, but the general acceptance letter came the next day.

I checked online (my admissions account) to see that I got in and was admitted to Honors too. Then I got the letter about a week later with the Presidential scholarship notification.

^ O right TOEFL(test of english as a foreign language) 118 out of 120

obviously, I cant say for sure, but your test scores are higher than my son’s - accepted EA and Honors College.
Good Luck.

Thanks! I understand I might not have gotten my letter yet, but my UVM account just says “accepted”. Nothing else, wouldn’t it be on there already? Well all I can do is pray I guess, haha. Congrats to your son by the way!!

I just went back into the UVM status on-line. It says; Decision: Admit
that’s all. Absolutely no mention of Honors College anywhere. It was weeks for him before he received the Honors College invitation letter.

CONGRATUALTIONS!!!

Okay thank you so much for your help!! I will just have to wait and see I guess:)

Anyone receive their FA award yet?

No, sadly…WHERE IS IT!!!

got accepted a while back…
SAT1 MATH - 800
CR - 720
SAT2s - 750 bio, 720 Math 2
but madddddd weak gpa, just good essays and lots of ECs

March 31 and still no FA. Anyone see theirs yet?

Just got my presidential scholarship! 6000 per year. I dont really know what it means though, does everyone get it? Also, does that mean I didnt get into the honors college (I live in the Netherland, so all my letters come later)

in response to posters right above me,

i got my infor about scholarship first, then got my information about honors college much later, at least a month

vermont was very generous with financial aid (i’m oos) and got about half of the tuition in grants and scholarship

I found UVM was surprisingly generous regarding merit-based scholarship.
What’s weird, however, is I was not accepted into their honors program nor UMass’s, but got into one at Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As nice as UVM is, I do not have incentive enough to go.

Accepted in Feb. SATs 2050, top 10 percent of class GPA:3.7
I got into Honors College, but the financial aid is not enough-Presidential Scholarship 6 k and out of state grant 3k. I’m going to appeal to financial aid. Has anyone had any luck appealing ??
