Honors College Decisions?

I got an email last night informing me I was awarded a merit scholarship, but I didn’t hear anything from the Honors College. Has anyone else been accepted yet? When can I expect to get a decision?

same, email of scholarship is all i got…how much did you recieve?

Full tuition & fees for 4 years. I wasn’t sure if I was going to go to Stony Brook, but the scholarship pretty much made my decision for me! I just visited the campus yesterday. I liked it and I’m probably going to enroll.

My dad’s pretty obsessed with me getting into an Honors program at university, though, so I hope I hear back soon.

@Vinnatan‌ wat state are u from? and wat was ur SAT

I’m from NYS. My SAT score was a 2350.

Hey my son got same Scholarship - Presidential Scholarship with an annual value of full-time NYS tuition and broad-based fees for four years. Not sure what the broad-based fees cover, but this is an pretty amazing turn of events, and further complicates our decision-making. Son had also applied to honors college, but the letter doesn’t state anything about that, so we are also wondering if this means he is not being accepted to that, or if that comes separately. My sense is that they are offering him the Presidential Scholarship, but not Honors. Hope to get some more answers soon.

@sapphire50 , what were your sons stats

2210 SAT (750 math, 750 cr, 710 writing), 93.5 gpa weighted (school doesn’t do unweighted). 31 ACT (33 reading, 33 english, 28 math, 32 science). 5 AP classes, 4 dual-enrollment SUNY classes. 6 yrs track, cross country, team captain, jazz band, wind ensemble. Physics major. 300+ volunteers hours, local hospital, soup kitchen and food pantry. Great recs, essay etc.

Honors College and WISE decisions are on their way. No word from University Scholars yet; probably later this week.

@sbuadmissions thanks Chris

Hello Chris: are these decisions communicated vie email or postal mail ? Has anyone received one as yet ?

I heard some people have received decisions but I’m still waiting.

Just got my Honors College acceptance! They’re on a rolling basis though from what I’ve heard, so don’t worry if you haven’t received one yet.

@fitforcollege‌ mail or email?

My son got an acceptance into honors college today, too! He got presidential scholarship (tuition and fees) about a week earlier. It will be a tough call if he also gets into Ivys or other higher rated
schools…

@njnetsbently‌ mail

My son received presidential scholarship (full tuition) last week, and today received invitation to tour Brookhaven Lsb, but no word on honors or scholars. I honestly don’t know which one he applied to tho.

Yeah, I haven’t gotten anything either (still). It seems weird that they’d give me a full tuition scholarship but not accept me to the Honors College, but maybe they just had a lot of money or something. I’m a little disappointed I haven’t heard anything. I’ll probably still go even if I don’t get in, but I hope I get a decision at least.

We offer a lot more scholarship dollars than we do HC acceptances; it’s not as weird as you think. HC can only take an incoming class of about sixty, so they only make a few hundred offers. And HC admission can also be major-dependent, where scholarships aren’t. Hang in there!

Chris

Are the honors college decisions still going out to accepted students?
