They gave me $80,000 over four years. But I still want the water bottle

wow! congratulations!!

i got $1500, woo-hoo rolls eyes one of my friends is up for a full ride merit-based, how amazing would that be?

i got in, got the bottle

i didnt apply for financial aid...can i still get $$?

Shaka, I'll give you my money for your water bottle

So KB, are you going to be a Wolverine? Hehe...a Michigan education for $7,000/year, not bad!

Maybe...maybe not. I'm out of state, so that vaunted michigan education will still set me back about $16,000 a year. If I get into the Telluride House, then we might be talkin, but untill then, I'm holding my breath.

Of course, if I get my water bottle, I'm there for sure.

But KB, $16,000 is still a bargain. Comparable private universities will cost you at least twice as much. Anyway, good luck and keep us posted...and I hope you DO get that bottle! LOL You nut!!!

hee hee hee - my d loves the water bottle but couldn't help pointing out that 4 years ago her sister received an honest-to-God Michigan sweatshirt as a recruiting tool. It was gorgeous! She still wears it as the school she's at isn't really a big athletic power and she likes to root for U-M for football (who doesn't?). Though actually W & M had a great year in their division.

No finaid info at all yet, and we'll be interested to see what kind of offer she receives, if any. We're out of state, btw. D's application wasn't sent in until mid-December, and I thought I read somewhere on this forum that most merit money is disbursed to kids who apply earlier. Those darned essays! My d really struggled with the long one and it sure slowed her down.

I'm sooo thirsty

I was really excited about getting the water bottle - it made my day. Haha, ok that's pathetic. Anyways, all UMich is giving me in terms of financial aid is a $2,600 loan. Still don't know where I'm going next year . . . . I have to wait to hear from some other schools on April 1.

Hey, I'm in LSA Honors as well and got the bottle last week. Anyway, regarding financial aid, is there a difference between "view financial aid award summary" and "view financial aid award notices?" Because I can access the summary page but when I try to access the "Notices" page, it says "access denied." Does this mean they haven't given me my award yet?

I have my award, it looks like (if I don't accept the loans) I have to come up with approximately $7000 a year. Is it worth it? I don't know.

Xjay, you have to pay $7,000/year in tuition? That's a pretty good deal. Is it worth it? What are your options?

Well, I'm still waiting to hear from my RD schools, and then I'll make my decision. :-)

What are your RD schools?

I live in New York and got mine too plus a postcard & a call from a local alum. If you didn't fill out the form I guess you get no merit aid? Ah well, still waiting to hear from 8 other schools (!) ...

i read that merit aid info comes in mid-april...

I got 9.3k in grants, 3k im work study, and roughly 8k in loans. All in all, I'm pretty satistfied with it... its more than I thought I would get.

Anyone else recieve the "Award of Excellence" scholarship?

kdos, I also thought the same.
