Honors College MSU

Has anyone been invited yet to the Honors College? If so, could you please share your stats and also tell how long it took from the day you received your admission decision to get the invite?

34 act 3.99 uw gpa took like one month I think

@Eeeee127 Congrats and thanks for sharing.

All of the invites to the honors college were sent out in the mail before the beginning of January. If you didn’t receive one, you have the option to appeal for the honors college by sending in additional information and essays. See the honors college website.

@Jmiller17 Contacted the office about this, their response:

We just received your record from the Office of Admissions and will most likely review thoroughly next week. You don’t need to send additional information at this time.

They will be reviewing me I guess  .

@Eeeee127 I just got an email telling me that I have been invited to the Honors College, will the entire letter be available on my Spartan Portal.

Or do they just mail it to you?

i think they just mail it

@Eeeee127 Hey, if you are out of state, did you get the Professorial Assistantship and the tution grant associated with it. I think the minimum required was a 33 on the ACT or 1500 on the SAT. I did not qualify for it, I have a 1430 on the SAT. But I think you should have. I am giving the April ACT to try to get the required score and maybe become eligible for it. Do you know if they still give you the tution grant and the Assistantship if you establish eligibility for it after you are invited to the Honors college?
It says on the site that it is awarded along with the Honors college invite or when the applicant establishes eligibility.

I am in-state and had a 34 act so i got the professorial assistantship. I’m not sure if you can still get it since it’s so late and by the time April ACT scores come out it will be very close to the May 1 decision deadline. You should contact them and ask if you can get the pa if you get a higher score on the april act before you go in and take it.

@Eeeee127 Thank You! I will contact them.

Could someone explain the difference between the Honors College housing and the housing provided in the Engineering Core Program?

@Eeeee127 when did you apply to MSU? Like October, November, etc.

@bean525 I applied in September and got my acceptance October 5

@Eeeee127 @bean525 Hey, did you guys get any scholarships from the college of engineering? They were supposed to go out in the first week of April.
