<p>I was wondering if anyone here could give me any feedback on whether or not I should bother petitioning to get into the Mizzou honors college. I meet the 1290 SAT requirement (just), but I'm not in the top 5% of my class. I go to a small school with only 56 kids in my class, so to be in the top 5%, I would have to be at least salutatorian. (I'm ranked #4, but my class is pretty competitive.) I'm in dual credit classes and so far have a 4.0 with the college my school works with, if that means anything. As for the petition essays, I'm sure I'll do pretty well. Writing was my highest SAT score by far. Too bad they don't care about it. Judging by the quality of this post, though, maybe it would be best to get my English teacher's help.</p>
<p>I think you should petition and explain your lower ranking due to class size. My school does not rank and I got admitted to the honors college</p>
