I have recently been invited to the Honors Program at College Park and I have a question. If I place my top preference as Entrepreneurship and Innovation, what are my chances of actually getting into this program as I have a goal of starting a business in the near future. Is this program generally a competitive program to get into?

State your intentions enthusiastically in your short essay and place the maximum points to your top choice and you should get in. The competitiveness is dictated by the interest of the other Honors candidates for the class of 2018. I believe there are 75 seats.

Man, I hope I get into my preference.

If you put all of your points into EIP and emphasize your future business ventures and goals, you should have no problem getting in. They love hearing about students who aspire to start businesses. They say that there are 75 seats, but this past year, over 100 were selected.

^We can only put a maximum of 75 into one LLP.

I ended up putting 75 in my top choice, and 65 in my second choice.

jibler…i used a different approach I put 75 on the one I really want and divided the rest up to show that I really was not interested in them. Not much difference between 65 and 75 points

Although there isn’t much of a difference, it’s still clear I prefer the 75 one over the 65 one. If I didn’t have a preference between the two, I would have put 70 and 70.
