Honors College qualified, chances for regular admission?

If you meet the minimum honors college requirements (4.0 UF GPA and 2070 SAT), does that like "basically" guarantee you admission into the regular college? What about a 4.2 UF GPA and 2070 SAT?

Admissions is not guaranteed based on GPA and SAT scores (even though yours may be in the top 25% of enrolled students). UF uses a “holistic” admissions process, with GPA/Test/Class Rigor making up 50%, but EC’s, essay, etc making up the rest.

Good Luck!

Any other opinions on the matter?

my brother was a national merit finalist with 4.0 gpa who didn’t get in (2180 sat). Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to UF admissions.

Admission into Honors PROGRAM (not necessarily a separate college) is separate from admittance into UF.

Many people have not been accepted admission with those stats
Very important to have extracurricular and good essay

People have been accepted to an Ivy school or valedictorian and declined from UF…and others with low test scores get in…

I have wondered if it has something to do with the luck of the person who reads your essay/goes over your admission packet

As far as the Honors college…those are the minimum requirements…but I had a friend who got in this year with a 32 ACT (and I think the minimum on website is 33)and other in my high school that had higher scores and did not get into Honors…
