Hi, I am currently trying to apply for early action at USC as well as the honors college. However, the deadline for early action is oct 15 while the deadline for the honors college is November 15. I have already completed the regular application and would like to turn that in before the deadline but it won’t let me turn it in unless I have completed the honors college supplements (which have a completely different deadline!!) what should I do? Wait until November 15 to turn it in or just turn it in now??
They are both due Nov. 15. That’s what they told us at a uSC scholars dinner and if you look at the website, I believe it explains it there as well. They want them turned in together.
From the 2016 Guidance Councillor’s Handbook: “Students submitting the Honors College/Top Scholars application should not worry about the Oct.15 Early Answer Deadline: they’ll receive the same consideration as early answer applicants and will receive a decision for their university admission the week of Dec. 12.”
I am in the same situation. Do you know if the letters of recommendation have to be in by that time as well? I requested them I’m just worried they won’t connect them by my deadline.
The letters of recommendation have to be in by the Nov 15 deadline. Even if you apply early all you’ll get is a decision to the school in general (which, if you are eligible to apply for honors, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get accepted). Earliest you’ll hear about the honors college is mid December, or at least that’s what the date was last year.
