Could someone tell me the stats required to get into Honors College? I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks

If you mean the honors program, google "Renee Crown". It's the name of the honors prorgram at Syracuse, and all the information is there. It is also on the school website, just search under that name.

I've looked there 15 times, and while it says students will be evaluated on the strength of their application, I have no idea what stats they're looking for.
Any Crown students willing to share?

My sister got into honors program with a full scholarship with a 1980 sat and a ~97 gpa not exactly sure what her exact gpa was but it was around there unweighted. Had a alot of aps and her ECs were ok nothing fancy.

fleaman360......In state student or OOS?

Syracuse University is a private school so I am not sure whether an applicant is from New York or not will matter with respect to being admitted into the Honors Program.

we live instate

Honors Program stats and requirements are not really clearly defined anywhere.....there were students last year invited with lower stats and EC's, etc, than those that were not invited. In addition, there are a disproportionate # of students in Renee Crown from arts and sciences rather than from Whitman, Newhouse or other schools.(no idea why, but when my D asked about this, the person responded with a hearty giggle ). It is a rigorous program with many requirements (including a senior capstone project); there are some who were invited that have decided that other academic priorities were more important to them (i.e. double major, etc.). You can't knock small class sizes, however.

That being said, if you are not initially invited, you can apply on your own, after you are admitted to the overall school, if you call and ask. They will check your stats over the phone. It involves an application and essay. Very short time frame, however, and they will not tell you if you are accepted into the program before May 1st. In addition, they invite already enrolled students who perform well at SU.

britbrat1961, In-state of OOS will not make any difference - SU is a private school.
