Anyone heard yet? I'm feeling like maybe thats last to find out since lots of people seem to be getting calls and emails. I really don't like being one of the last ones left in the dark!

Last year my D didn’t get her notification until very late … last week of March if I remember right. Have faith! And try not to worry.

wooo hooo i got in this morning… i checked at like 8:45am

I live in NY

i got in too. Does anyone think it seems like a disadvantage to live without the other freshmen? I really wanna go to delaware but i’m not crazy about the fact that we have to live with honors. Im not sure lol. thoughts?

My S is in Harrington complex as we speak. I can definitely say that he has no problem in the honors only dorm. Many of the other complexes are nearby. Keep in mind that not all of your classes are honors which gives you a chance to meet people outside the program. He does not feel isolated or secluded at all.

Last year my son lived in the honors freshmen dorm. They keep the freshmen together for honors, too. But there were students who were not honors mixed together. It wasn’t an issue. They were all friends together on their floor whether they were in honors or not.

cool guys . thanks that makes me feel better

DD is a junior but as a freshman there was a 60:40 mix of Honors/nonHonors. They used Russell, Land and Thompson that year for Honors. I don’t know if they still have them or if they are called something different, but they had “Russell Fellows” who were upperclass Honors students who lived in the dorm and were available for guidance.

I got into the honors program! I was notified with my acceptance letter a few weeks ago. I’m heading down to see it in a couple weeks to be sure it’s where I want to go. (it’s a bit of a drive from Maine)

My son also lives in Harrington this year, and has made many friends both in and out of the Honors Program. He happens to be very friendly with his hall mates, but is not staying in honors housing next year. Once you get involved in activities at school, i don’t think it matters very much if you live with the other honors kids or not, but it’s probably a good place to start in terms of having similar academic drive.

i got into university of delaware with honors, however, i have heard a lot of trash talk about the school regarding its overwhelming party scene and sub par academics. How is the school really and does being in the honors program really make a difference?

bump im wondering the same thing collegedecisions

It was a good experience. Like everything it’s what you choose to make of it.
There were excellent resources for the program. The dorm thing was not for me and I ended up off campus after freshman year.
