Honors concentration without honors "program"

Does anyone know if you are able to apply to a departmental honors program even if you are not involved in the "Honor college". I'd be a transfer student, so the 100 and 200 level honors classes would be mostly pointless, I'm not interested in honors housing. It just all around seems like there isn't much point. But I would like to pursue the English Honors program (mostly for the thesis and gradaute level class opportunities). The honors website talks about the concentration honors, but does say if only honors students can apply to that, or is that option open to everyone?

You don't have to be in the Honors program to pursue an Honors concentration. However, that doesn't mean everyone can do it. You have to apply. You need a solid GPA and have to demonstrate that you have strong ability in the major you are pursuing.
