Does JMU release honors decisions with EA decisions, or do those come later? Someone must know the answer to this. :)

Honors early applicants (who applied to Honors by 11/30) will be notified in early February, per their website:

[JMU - Apply to the Honors Program](<a href=“Honors College - JMU”>Honors College - JMU)

Also - for anyone who is interested in the Honors program but is not accepted now, or wants to wait - you can.

My DD decided not to apply for honors initially. She did well first semester and was just accepted into honors this week. So it is not just a one time thing.

thank you, momofa12. Stalking this thread this week hoping decisions really are imminent. I (obviously) have a senior, but I have a junior who would love to become a Duke too. While D should make honors, S won’t, but I’m hoping he can get in. Guess I’ll be spending a good bit of time here in the coming years… :)

For what it’s worth, we have been very happy with the school so far. The classes are challenging, the professors have been good and very accessible, and she is having a great time.

Decisions are live…

Yay Sarah!

Dear Ms. Semp:
Congratulations! It is my pleasure to inform you of your acceptance to James Madison
University for the Fall Semester 2013.

Does anyone know when letters were received last year? I am just wondering when I should expect to hear back because I really want to be accepted. Thank you!

HONORS EARLY ACTION: NOVEMBER 30 HONORS REGULAR DECISION: FEBRUARY 28

KatMT - Received EA and now waiting on honors. What is the name of the honors dorm? Will it be available to tour the day of the open house, Feb 18th? As an honors student, are you guaranteed a room all four years? Are Letters mailed the first or second week of Feb? It would be great to know prior to the Feb. 18th visit. Thanks.

Hello!

I don’t work in general JMU admissions, rather as a faculty member in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, so I am afraid I do not have definitive answers to your questions…

I would suggest contacting admissions or the Honors Program directly to find out if it is possible to tour the honors dorm when you visit for Choices. I am not sure that the honors living learning community is always located in the exact same dormitory from year to year… recently it has been in Shenandoah Hall

I do not believe that any students at JMU are guaranteed housing for four years. About 1/2 of the sophomore class moves off of campus, and most juniors and seniors live off of campus. From the wording on the website, it sounds like some sophomore honors students live in the honors dorm, but not all – [JMU Office of Residence Life - James Madison University](http://www.jmu.edu/orl/involved/honors.html). I have also known freshman honors students who have chosen not to live in the honors dorm.

Even if a student is not admitted to the Honors Program as an incoming freshman, he or she has other opportunities to re-apply at a later date once a matriculated student.

Sorry I do not have more specifics for you.

Thanks for the input KatMT. I’ll check with admissions and honors as suggested.

Honors decision letter came in the mail today. DD is in–very happy!
